Why I started this site
I spent several years building software before I ever wrote a review. Most of that work was unglamorous: desktop applications, web tools, internal dashboards. What it taught me is how quickly you can tell a well-built product from a rushed one once you are inside it.
That is missing from most software reviews. A lot of them are written from the sales page alone, by someone who never opened the product. You end up reading a rewritten feature list with a buy button underneath. So I write the review I wanted to find: what the tool does, where it breaks, and who should skip it.

How a review gets written

Buy or request access
Every tool on this site has been installed on my own machine or account. No review is written from a demo video.

Use it on real work
I run the tool against a task I actually needed done, for at least a week, so the review reflects normal use rather than a first impression.

Record what broke
Setup friction, missing features, support response time, and anything that only shows up after a few days all go into the notes.

Publish the verdict, including who should skip it
Every review names the people it is wrong for. A tool that suits everyone is a tool nobody needed.
Before this site
I work as a software engineer. Recent projects include a desktop application built in Qt for smart-card hardware, a FastAPI web service, and a customer support assistant for a card-issuing site. I still write code most days.
The connection is simpler than it sounds: I read documentation for a living, so reading a tool's documentation before reviewing it is not extra work for me. It is the first thing I do.

If you build a tool in these categories and want it looked at, write to me. I will tell you honestly whether it fits my audience, and I will send you the review before it goes live so you can correct anything factually wrong. I do not remove criticism, but I would rather be accurate than fast.
